Hundreds flock to our Mini Beer Festival

What a day! Well over 300 people enjoyed the wonderful atmosphere of our Mini Beer Festival on 1st October and an amazing £4,250 was raised from entry tickets, extra beer sales and the kind contribution from Sartorelli’s pizza sales.

We were pleased to hear that it was also a good afternoon for the Scouts, who raised hundreds of pounds towards their new Scout Hut from their BBQ sales, and that the Sports and Social Club also did a roaring trade.

We’d like to thank absolutely everyone that made it possible… beer drinkers, musicians, sponsors and volunteers… the list is so long we can’t name everyone here, but you know who you are!

The beer festival was one one of several recent successful fundraising events for the campaign, including a magnificent cake sale and a pop-up pub.

We’re delighted that our campaign to save the White Horse continues to have strong and consistent support from so many of you. Support for the festival demonstrated overwhelmingly that the campaign is hugely worthwhile and in the best long-term interests of everyone in our village. Our resolve is still strong and we know that getting planning permission for a change of use is going to be a nightmare for any developer with an interest in the pub. Do get in touch if you have any questions!
