Competition Rules
Outlined below are the main rules. Please also refer to the full terms & conditions for more information on the competition.
What format should the entries be in?
All entries must be made in the following format
Maximum of 4Mb
1920 pixels along the long edge
5:4 crop is preferable (portrait or landscape orientation, please note that some cropping of winning images for the calendar may be unavoidable.)
Saved as JPEG
No borders or watermarks
Image names must follow this format
<FIRSTNAME>-<SURNAME>-<IMAGE No>
i.e. Ansel-Adams-01.jpg, Ansel-Adams-02.jpg etc.
Can I enter a composite image?
Composite images are not allowed unless the composite is made for the purpose of exposure or focus stacking.
What classes as an eligible photo?
An eligible photo is one that is predominantly of nature, local buildings, or animals in Stonesfield and within a 2 mile radius of Stonesfield and within the last 3 years. People shouldn’t be the focus of the image.
How many entries can one person have?
Each person is allowed to submit 5 photographs for the fee of £10.
One entry per person is allowed.
Do I have to upload my photos when I pay?
No, when you pay the £10 you will get a unique link that you can use to upload your photos when you want.
Can I edit my image?
Editing is allowed on your image however you are not allowed to add objects into your image or any excessive removal of objects other than small debris or dust spots. For the short listed entries we may require you to supply a RAW image of the selected photo.
Will the photos be judged anonymously?
Yes, when judging photos will be viewed without knowing who the author is. The entries will be kindly judged by Tom Bown and Brian Lee of Witney Photo Group.
